Starter System Troubleshooting

Model 2815SC

The Starter Troubleshooting software is based on a newer starting system and presents the basic concepts of troubleshooting a starter motor circuit. The key element in improving or developing diagnostic skills is to allow the student to follow the logical troubleshooting process without being distracted by hunting for wires, connectors, and other components. The program allows the student to work at their own pace or faults can be sent by the instructor using the Classroom Management Program (CMP).

Features:

  • Comprehensive Fault Library: Includes 57 potential faults, ranging from; Open Circuits, High Resistance, Short to Ground, Short to Voltage, Shorted, and no-fault conditions.

  • Built-In Tools: DMM, Battery Load Tester, and Scan tool

  • Flexible Troubleshooting Modes: Choose between Standard Mode (measurements on both sides of a connector) and Advanced Mode (measurements on one side only) to tailor the learning experience.

  • Hands-On Simulations: Connect and disconnect connectors, remove and replace blown fuses, simulate battery connect/disconnect procedures, and even detect key fob issues.

  • Classroom Management Program (CMP): Enables the instructor to monitor student progress, review responses, and insert faults.
